McDaniel said :

That was an emotional moment, and that's not part of the stuff that anybody gets involved in, as you know in football you probably have something to take off on a stretcher,".
“All of us on the team were all very concerned, so the best news we can get is that everything has been checked and controled, that he hasn't had anything more serious than a concussion, and he's back with us on the plane.”

The player injury

The player injury occurred in the second quarter when he was hit by a Cincinnati    defensive tackle Josh Topo almost six minutes before halftime, and he fell over the field, obviously hitting the back of his head. In a terrifying sight, Tagovailoa was on the ground with his arms outspread, and he twisted his fingers, a bit like a boxer or fighter after a knockout in what is referred to as the fencing response.

Tagovailoa remained on the ground for a few minutes when the coaches came to him before bringing a stretcher to take him out of the field. He was then taken in an ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Tagovailoa's damage comes just after four days, provisionally exiting the Dolphins' win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Tagovailoa left Sunday's game with what the team at first announced was a head injury. QB returned to start the other half of the match and finished with the win. Dolphin coach Mike McDaniel tell after the match that Tagovailoa hit his back in the first half and was exacerbated by a bang from Bills midfielder Matt Milano.

The NFL Players Association later planned to research if proper concussion protocol was followed. The NFL assured Wednesday that a review was underway, but all indications are that convenient protocol has been followed. The NFLPA publish a statement Thursday night stating that its realization is continuing and that "her interest tonight is for Tua and we hope for a full and speedy recovery."
McDaniel confirmed Thursday that an independent specialist rated Tagovailoa on Sunday and did nothing to "evade" protocol.

«That's why the NFL has these protocols, and it's not like every NFL game is played », he said. « There is an independent specialist who specializes in the matter of the brain, so for me, as long as I train here, I am not going to dodge the entire situation. If there is any tendency for someone to have a concussion, he will keep track of concussion protocol; it is very stringent. We don’t mess around. In that, we haven't gone out of that as long as I've been a head coach, so it won't be a problem you guys should worry about. »

Ahead of Thursday's match, Tagoviloa has suspicious about playing due to back and ankle pain, however he got off to a good start. McDaniel does not confirm the injuries he sustained on Sunday are directly related to Thursday's conditions. moreover, he assure that he would never put the result of the match as a priority over the player's well-being.
Also said "I don't think an injury from last week made him fall the same way this week, but yeah, I don't have any patience, like no patience at all, or I'll set a player in a position to get harm along the way," McDaniel said. "That's not me at all, and no outcome from any match will affect me being responsible as a coach for the football team."
Tagavailua was 8 of 15 for 110 yards, and there was no touchdown and interception before his out on Thursday. Teddy Bridgewater took charge of the QB for the Dolphins.
24-year-old Tagovailoa is the fifth overall pick for the 2020 NFL Draft, in his third season with Miami.
