Argentina defeats the Netherlands on penalties, and faces Croatia in the World Cup semi-finals

The Argentine national team succeeded in reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, which is currently being held in Qatar, after winning a penalty shootout against the Netherlands, after the end of the original and extra time with a positive draw 2-2, in the quarter-final match that was held at Lusail Stadium, on Friday evening.

Extra time
In extra time, the Dutch and Argentine teams exchanged attacks in order to advance again, and in the 103rd minute, Messi executed a direct free kick and sent the ball into the penalty area, and Otamendi almost hit it before the ball went out near the goal.
Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez grabbed a dangerous ball in the second extra half, and Messi hit a dangerous ball near the goal, before the final whistle, with a positive draw 2-2, and resorting to penalty kicks.
